Pacific Forest Dive
12”x 12” encaustic and shellac burn on wood panel
When my boys were one, I would load them up and take them on the train from Beacon hill downtown to the aquarium. We made the trek to stand in front of the two-story tank watching the aquarium staff scuba dive. It was one of the only activities that captured their imagination for long-enough to allow this weary, sleep-deprived mother a moment to sit and admire them admiring our world. This piece is a celebration of those minutes of calm and absolute beauty of our Pacific Northwest ocean.
